Wind Data Restored. Installed New Anemometer.

Comparing the replacement anemometer/wind vane ($139) with the old one, it is obvious that ice got up inside the old unit (when the mast bent over) and damaged the bearings or whatever. The old vane and cups wiggle around like a hula dancer.

Sorry it took so long to replace.

Good Job Ken!

Hey, Ken Howells got the wind data working again. Looks fine. Now I can see what a good day I missed.

Elsinore Sun and Mon

Both days were very similar. I launched at 12 on Sun and it blew down 10 min later. Worked the usual thermals to 6K'msl. Flew from one spot to another then went to land and got a great low save off of the 'A' frame house that took me to 5500' msl out over the lake. Waved at the jump plane a couple of times. Finally landed in wind blowing down at 10-15 after 1 hour and 50 min. Lots of people went lots of places.
