archivesMarshall, Tuesday, 12-8-09Post-frontal but still an onshore day. Crystal clear with a few scattered puffies. I launched a Condor 330 from the 750 at 10:09 into light lift. Soon the lift turned into 300-500 FPM up and I was at 4200 before the cold got to be too much for my bare face and my lightly-gloved hands. I was able to see that there was no snow on Marshall. The SSW wind in the LZ had picked up and I didn't even reach the grass on final. Flatlander VisitI'm a flatlander who will be in Palm Springs in February for an event. Im thinking of bringing my paraglider, just in case. A few quick questions: Whats the realistic travel time from LAX to the park? And from the park to Palm Springs? (Ive heard of the LA traffic, so just checking) Is this the closest flight park to Palm Springs? And other sites recommended? I'm a P2 pilot so I will be contacting a local school for a site coach session as well. Any recommendations? |
