CSS Events

We have a few events each year - big fly-ins in July and September, often a Halloween event, the Christmas toy drive, and occasionally a smaller event in there somewhere.

See the links below for info on upcoming events and to see items about past events, including photos, contest results, pilot reports from the day - whatever pertains.

If you have ideas or want to help out with an upcoming event, feel free to post comments on the event pages, add a child page(s) to them, or you can post topics in the Events & Site Projects section of the forum.

Spring Meeting 2008 - April 12

The spring general membership meeting is to be held at the Andy Jackson Airpark at 7 PM on Saturday April 12th. Contact me if you would like something added to the agenda. It is open to everyone and especially all CSS members.

SDHGPA Holiday Flyin December 13th

Please circulate. The SDHGPA holiday fly-in will be December 13th
at HORSE. this is a great time to re-up your 2009 membership.
Food and beverages will be supplied for SDHGPA members and available
for $10 donation for non-members. 2009 membership submissions
waive the $10 donation. The past few years have had an excellent
turnout and good flights held by all participants.

If you plan to attend, please let me know so we can get an
accurate food and beverage count.

I will send an update this Thursday if the site changes or
cancellation due to weather.

If both SB and Horse are looking the same in terms of weather, we'll head South. This puts the advantage to Horse.

However, if the lapse rate and wind direction looks good in SB but dodgy at Horse, we'll go North. Right now, Horse is in the lead by a nose.

Fly-in POSTPONED 1week

Please circulate. The SDHGPA holiday fly-in will be postponed
for 1 week and will be held at Horse canyon on Saturday
December 20th. The conditions are just too unpredictable
to guarantee a good day by all. Our site director,
Bill Helliwell, has confirmed that at this time, the saturday
forecast for Horse does not look good for Hangs or Paras.

A small contingent of pilots are still planning to venture
out to Horse just to be sure, but I would like more
favorable conditions for a fly-in.
