Sylmar Flying

Flyin appeared to be a success. Lots of pilots, Great food, and friendly people. Got to 5000 on my Skyhawk and probably could have got higher, but the drift was severe and had to pull out well before thermals topped out. Air was really rowdy at times and got pitched around pretty good several times. Launched the Towers West of Kagel and got pummeled pretty badly. Crossed over to Kagel and
made a low save. Flew for two hrs and then made an attempt to land.
Got cross winded on final (concentrating on spot landing failed to notice wind change) and landed in the wash. Great landing, but not a place you want to whack. Now I've flown in the First and 25th
Sylmar flyin's. Did better at the first 2nd in spot landing and
got disqualified and lost first in the duration event because I didn't cross the qualifying line in LZ. Oh well helps to read fine print.

Tandem Flight

During flight Red Tail came up and parked off my left wing tip (very close).
We were both pretty stationary. It passed right in front of me and
parked off my right wing. Almost could have reached out and touched it). Started back towards my wing again I let out a shrill and it rolled up showing me it's undersides and Talons. How fun is that?
