AlanAnd in the air tooWelcome home, Alan! Can't wait to see your smiling face. OOpsYou get charged extra if you leave the hospital before all I'm out....Thanks to Dusty and Kathy slipping me that spoon in the homemade cookies, I was able to tunnel my way out of the hospital and to the waiting getaway Subaru. Guards almost stopped us within sight of freedom, but we fast talked our way through them. Sounds like it will be awhile before I'm even available as a driver, but the parts are now in the process of healing. Big 'Thank you' to everyone who has been helping us through this. The support we have been receiving has been tremendous and humbling. Fly safe, have fun, Alan Welcome back to the forumGood to read your writing again, Alan! Keep us posted and protect that spoon. Missed your postsGlad to hear that your at home and healing. Heal fast and well. Re: I'm out....Good to hear Alan that you are on your way to a recovery. Get well soon. Walk safe, fly safe. /,o,\ Welcome home Alan!Sounds like you're in good spirits. We'll keep making stupid flying videos and you can fly vicariously with us until your ankles heal up. You'll be back to.... HANG gliding in no time. ;-) Update Oct 9I'm back up on both legs as of yesterday. Home at last!!!
Kathy and I picked him up from the hospital last night. (Literally)

Boy was Barb glad to have him home!
I know Alan was happy to get out.
As we were wheeling him to the car they noticed one IV still in his hand. we stopped and waited for a nurse to come out and remove it.
There he was, 20 feet from the car. It was like a jail break, he almost made it over the fence.
Doh!
There will be frustrating times ahead. But this is when the real healing begins.
Alan, we are all looking forward to having you back in the LZ.
