Kudos OwenAt the just completed USHPA Bod meeting, local pilot Owen Morse was chosen as the recipient of the associations highest award, the Presidential Citation, for his display at John Wayne airport. Next time you see him you all owe him the beverage of his choice. Include Dan DeWeese, Commendation winner for his "Hook In" signs. Congrats Owen and Rebar Danyou see a need, you turn to and meet it. well done! I can smell the BBQ from here... Great News. Two thumbs up toGreat News. Two thumbs up to both Owen and Dan from both Dianne and I. humblingi don't know what to say. i am truly honored. i know all the effort it takes to prepare the nomination for the presidential citation award, and the thought of you guys doing that for me is humbling. i'm not sure i am worthy of the award, but i hope to continue to spread the word about just how cool hang gliding and paragliding are, and what a wonderful community of pilots we have. you guys rock! thanks so much. and a huge shout out to rebardan! the "hook in" signs were a stroke of genius. who knows how many lives may end up being saved by dan's efforts on those. Kudos OwenOn top of everything else, humility too! I hope you didn't mind hearing about the award here. The pilots that sent in the nomination forms deserve a big thanks also. Often there are 3 or 4, your stack was huge and the words expressed about your contributions were amazing and heartfelt. congrats! Brad Not only that...................but I was really getting tired of using assumed identities to pad the nominations. Actually it wasn't too difficult to take the names of every member of this forum who seldom posts and submit a nomination by proxy. Al Capone would have liked me. the perfect placebrad, thank you so much! i can't think of a better place to learn such amazing news. i'm touched by the thought of my css family taking the time to nominate me, and i share the award with you all. nothing gets done by one person alone, and everyone here has been beyond supportive. cheers! and see you in the air! |

Very Well Deserved
I've been around since 1985 and have never seen a "recreational" pilot so full of generosity, so full of great ideas and the will to get them implemented. Kudos Owen!
Thanks for letting us know, Brad.
Good Flying,
