11 Bald Eagles Spotted At Inland Empire Lakes

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — Eleven bald eagles were spotted during an organized count at sites across Riverside and San Bernardino counties over the weekend.

The U.S. Forest Service says bald eagles commonly migrate south to spend their winter vacations around the region’s lakes, feasting on fish and ducks.

Yes Sur!

Forums:

We had a chance to fly Big Sur recently. Winds were blowing in at 3-8 mph. straight in at launch. Caught some lift after launching and had plenty of altitude to burn off over the LZ.

If you have not flown it yet, put it on the list. Fall to Spring works best with no coastal fog those months. 3200' launch out to the beach.

The view is spectacular.

The Alps in 2017

Forums:

Jo and I are returning to Grindlewald, Switzerland early July 2017 for 3 weeks of "very civilized" paragliding . Anyone wanting to join or curious about flying in the Alps is welcome to contact us at jbrinck44@gmail.com. This is not a tour and I am not an instructor, but we do know our way around the area and are pleased to share that information.

Sunday, 2016/12/4. Big turnout.

Forums:

Big turnout of pilots today, probably because yesterday was not flyable at Marshall and to celebrate Lua's return (flying again in 2 weeks).

I launched around 12:45 pm and flew 2.5 hours with a top landing in the middle for a 30 min break. Reached "only" 5200', but a good day to practice light thermal skills. A few had longer flights around 3 hours. And a fair number chose to launch their PG's from Crestline thanks to the light wind. A relatively warm day too for December.
