Years ago, I saw a glider on Kagel launch sporting streamers. Come to find out, the pilot was attempting his first flight in soaring conditions. The streamers were a warning that the pilot was a newbie.
Didn’t see streamers used very often back then, but when I did the message was clear and I kept my distance.
Removed at the discretion of the instructor, streamers may be a good idea for fledgling pilots at AJX.
