General MemberI’ve been tracking the readings up on Crestline for several weeks now, comparing data from 2 stations plus actual boots-on-the-ground conditions from my last couple of visits, and in my opinion, the Airsites 2000 station up there is not producing reliable direction readings. Perhaps it’s an anemometer issue that will be resolved with time, but would suggest not relying on that one for flight/drive planning.
While we wait for a tower-climber volunteer (there is new wifi up there, so a tower climber is needed to bring down the holfuy station up there so we can open it up and connect it to the new wifi), there is another station nearby (just east of launch, owned by Edison) that seems to reflect the conditions on launch pretty well. Map of its location (the towers where the Airsites station is is the dot on the left):
I’d suggest using that one instead, until the club station is back online. Here is a link to the Synoptic Data Viewer where you can get the readings.

General MemberYep – ice is another matter, but that one has been giving incorrect readings since before we started icing up this season. The Edison station froze up for a day or so this last week, but seems to be thawed out again. Once we get the club station connected back up, it also has an ultrasonic anemo that is a bit more resistant to ice.
