When: This Friday, March 20 and then again on Monday & Tuesday March 23-24
What: Fire Department Training, Deploying Emergency Shelters
Who: San Bernardino County Fire Dept & participating local agencies
Why: The CSS is giving back to our local first-responders by gladly allowing them to use our LZ for a training exercise.
Impact: YOU CAN STILL FLY! Just be mindful of the activity in the LZ and plan your landings accordingly. The training will be a small footprint, only about 15 Firefighters will be on the grass at any given time and they will stick close to the Pavilion and adjacent to Frontline Road in the North West corner of the LZ. Anyone flying on those days should still have plenty of space to make normal approaches and landings.
They will begin at 8am and wrap up around 3:30 pm. Chances are the training will be wrapped up before most people land in the late afternoon. Friday is looking good so I expect most pilots will stay in the air for a good, long flight in those conditions.
Please be as cordial as possible and share our space with our Friends at the Fire Department, they do so much for us and these training opportunities are all that they ask.

I greatly apologize for the short notice on this event. The original dates that were planned were cancelled because of the heavy rains and severe Santa Ana winds we had about a month ago. It was a scramble to reschedule the training event and this coming week was the date that churned up.
