your links refer 2 different orders with 2 different maps. ORDER NO. 05-12-00-24-09 is the most recent and more restrictive. The order from Sept 8 had the closure boundary at hwy 18. It is now all the way to I 15.

September 10, 2024 at 6:16 PM #20985In accordance with the Nation Forest Service Order 05-12-53-24-09, the closure of the San Bernadino National Forest forces the CSS to cease all free-flight activity from ALL launches until the NFS cancels or modifies the closure order.
This means NO flights will be launched from Marshall, Crestline, Regionals, the 750, or ANY launch activity for free flight. Members need to respect the order given by the NFS and cease any activity within the National Forest to include hiking. Please don’t show poor sportsmanship by violating the order, the CSS needs to show respect for the Emergency Responders who are working the fire and organizing the evacuation efforts.
Students under instruction (or anyone else wanting to practice), may KITE in the AJX LZ and utilize the Training Hills. Be mindful, and please be respectful… it’s possible that SBPD or Sheriff’s Deputy Patrols in the area may question any activity in the LZ.
September 10, 2024 at 6:24 PM #20986FYI, this occurred in Sept 2021 when the SB National Forest was closed for essentially the whole month… right in the middle of prime thermal flying season. The 30 NOV closure date for the current order might be a bit of a surprise for some, but considering some of the devastating fires that have occurred across the state over the last two years, it makes sense.
With that said, its is likely they assigned an end date that is more than two months away out of an abundance of caution. If anything changes we will update this post accordingly. Hopefully things turn out for the better and the order will end earlier than currently listed.
September 10, 2024 at 8:35 PM #20987Use of USFS lands is what is what is covered by the order. Use of FS lands for launching gliders along with all other uses except accessing private property, are prohibited due to the fact that the launch, or the activity occurs on FS land.
The order covers only FS property noted in Ex. A, not private property and definitely not airspace.

General MemberUpdate to Forest Order 05-12-00-24-10 issued 20 September 2024.
Forest Order 05-12-00-24-10 states:
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the San Bernardino National Forest. This Order is effective from September 20, 2024, through November 30, 2024.
1. Going into or being upon any National Forest System lands within the Line Fire Closure Area, as described in Exhibit B and shown on Exhibit A. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).
2. Being on any National Forest System Road within the Line Fire Closure Area, as listed in Exhibit C as shown on Exhibit A. 36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).
3. Being on any National Forest System Trail within the Line Fire Closure Area, as listed in Exhibit C as shown on Exhibit A. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
2. Owners or lessees of land in the area;
3. Residents in the area;
4. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty; and
