    Going to to peel my parachute container open every now and then to make sure the velcro hasn’t welded itself shut.

    Did a practice deployment before Zac repacked my chute. Velcro stuck on the left side. Had to use both hands to get the bag free. In the process, I dropped the chute and never tossed it.

    I did a practice deployment twice before and didn’t have a problem.

    That was back in 2015. With the 14’ shade structure, we could have a similar clinic at AJX.

    velcro can also become fatigued if you open it too often. I had a harness that liked to try and spit the chute out the side. Glancing at the velcro seams should be part of the preflight along with the handle pins.  Replace weak velcro with the sewn in type only.
