CSS Board Meeting, August 31, 2026 Scheduled!

Attention all CSS members,

The CSS board has scheduled a “Google Meets” meeting for August 31st, 7:00-8:00PM to discuss the following:

– Approval of Minutes of Previous Meetings.

– Treasurer’s Report.

– Insurance Update.

– Encore University Hills Development Update.

– LZ Report.

– By Laws Revisions.

– Membership Standards.

– Safety Report.

I am most curious about these By Laws revisions and “Membership Standards”. If you are a member, you should have received an e-mail with information on how to log on (in addition to the above). If you have not received this e-mail and you are a current CSS member, please contact Nate, the communications director, so that he can send you the meeting invite. His e-mail is: communications@crestlinesoaring.org

Since this post is in the “Banter” forum and visible even if you are not signed into your account, I can’t give you any other details. You will have to look for that invite in your inbox, spam folder, or e-mail Nate to request it be re-sent to you. Non-members do not receive these invites.

Also, if you have been following the Steve R. thread and you no longer see it, it has been moved to the “Club Business” forum and you have to be signed into your account to be able to read it.

If any members are not seeing the email, check your spam folder. The email is from Crestline Soaring Society <info@crestlinesoaring.org> with the subject “CSS Board Meeting – August 31st 7PM”

If you are unable to find it then email me communications@crestlinesoaring.org and I’ll reply with the text and link of the original email. Since these emails are sent all at once as a campaign I can’t resend to individual email addresses.

Is it a regular board meeting, semi annual membership meeting or a special meeting?

i guess my real question is, Is the semi annual membership meeting going to be held in person? These online meeting just seem dodgy.

Thanks Jana for letting us know where the Steve R. thread was suddenly moved to.

Why did the initiator not put a forwarding link to the new location? This is so rude!

After moving that topic to the new location, create a new topic in “Forums” with a title like:

“An Appeal on Behalf of Steve Rousseau” was moved to “Club Business  Forum”

In that topic give a reason why this had to be moved and link to the new location of that topic:

There are many ways to do this, this is the most simple version anybody can do.

I also did not receive any email regarding meeting for August 31st

Yes checked spam etc.
I asked around and 4 others haven’t received it either, two confirmed no spam, am waiting for the other two.

This is quite disturbing.

I checked and I am a member and my email is correct.
In the past I would get all emails from prior boards.

Why have I been excluded??

Jimmy, I’ve emailed you the link.

A significant number of members that should have received the email have reached out saying they never got it. I suspect that this is an issue with the mass email service we have been using. I will look into other options before the next mass email is sent out.

Dan, this is a regular board meeting. We need to get the annual member meeting on the calendar.

Since so many have not received the e-mail, any chance you can resend the invite to all members again via whatever new service you find? If we need to move the meeting to give everyone the proper 30 day notice, so be it. Thanks!

Hi Jana,

I’m running a test delivery with a couple of volunteers who did not receive the original email in an effort to find out why so many have been missing emails. So far everything looks good until after the email is received by a server and then sent to someone’s inbox. It could be a filter based on images and links.

If the test works then I can email a follow up/reminder that should reach everyone. If it doesn’t I can try the same email as a reminder in the hopes that the issue is random.
