I may be fiddling around with creating an alerting tool for the iPhone that will have Siri announce aircraft that are entering into our area (I picked a couple of arbitrary points about 25 miles NW of Cajon and SE of the dam – a big box). Since this would require a cell signal to work, it would be helpful if anyone that has kept an eye on their cell coverage on their flights could reply here. I’m curious what others have been seeing in terms of what areas and altitudes that they might be losing signal, or if anyone has noticed good solid signal throughout their entire flight. Any info such as locations, altitudes, your cell carrier, etc would be helpful. Just wondering how feasible this might be before putting any effort into it. I already have the data (FlightAware) and alerting (Siri, plus a couple of Apple Shortcuts for automation) figured out.
