Starting on February 1st and probably going on until Feb 21st we will be changing the watering times for the LZ.

This ‘probably’ won’t affect any landings, kiting, or instruction in the LZ – I’ll do my best.

Basically, we will be watering twice a day during this time, at the normal time after dark which is currently 9pm start, but we will be adding an early morning cycle.  What it will probably be is an 8pm cycle followed by a 6am cycle, but expect each cycle to last up to 2.5 hours.

It is unlikely that the morning cycle will still be going during any landings, but it’s very possible that the LZ will be wet most of the morning.

Why are we doing this?  Two reasons; Fresh grass seed is going down on January 31st, the extra water is to keep the seed wet so the seeds swell and achieve maximum germination.  The second reason is that we need to slowly drain the pond so that we can clean the pond liner on FEB 21st (see work-party announcement).  When we finish the pond clean out we will return to a night-time only watering schedule.
