Despite the limitations in place (Airliners overhead at 8 k + Stay West of Hwy 18) one could still find fun inside the box. After a sinky start, I found a solid one near Cloud that took me to 7700′, allowing me to bypass Crestline to glide straight to Pine. I landed at Sunset with a 2 hr 36 min flight. Lots of pilots on Marshall launch around 3 pm, and some flew further and longer.
Thanks to David for an animation of our flights. And for this picture from my blindspot…
Thanks to Jana for taking this short video of me & David, working a light & wide thermal 20 min before sunset.
