After a productive club meeting, I joined the Sandy van that made a direct trip to Marshall because it was blowing over-the-back at Crestline. I launched at 3:45pm and flew 3 hours, up to 6k. But the interesting part was that at 5k and above there was about 9 mph from NW, when vertical of Marshall. Despite this, turbulence was not unusual.
It got windy in the LZ around 6pm, but that calmed down by the time I landed.
A good turnout of pilots, which makes it more fun. I was incognito with barely a touch of Orange showing (thanks to David for the picture).
