Thank you Jai Pal. I wasn’t suggesting anything otherwise. Still I think this should be called out and the rules spelled out clearly for all to follow. For example, if CSS is not an USHPA chapter can a non USHPA rated pilot fly there?

Hi, yes I understand. If you read the by-laws, it does not matter whether or not Crestline Soaring Society is an USHPA Chapter or not,  any CSS Member must be an USHPA member (P3 or P2 instructor supervised) to fly into Andy Jackson Airpark.  As far as HG pilot rating requirements, I don’t know the requirement.

Awesome! Thank you for the clarification. So nothing changes. Good to know.

So if CSS is no longer part of the RRRG insurance.

What insurance company is handling the club?

    Thanks,

Our insurance policy is with “Prime”. Before Prime, we had a policy with “Next” insurance. We are currently working on going back to the RRRG and perhaps once again becoming a USHPA chapter. Jamie has spent a lot of her valuable time trying to secure a reasonable policy for the club. It hasn’t been easy or quick, but we are hopeful that eventually it works out for everyone involved.

As for the club not being a USHPA chapter, I can’t remember exactly why or how we fell away from it a few years ago, but there didn’t seem to be any tangible benefit to being a USHPA chapter, other than appearing on their list. Maybe that has changed since then.

As Jai Pal stated, although we are not a USHPA chapter at this time, every pilot flying and landing at AJX is required to have a current USHPA membership & rating, AND a current CSS club membership.
