I launched at 3 PM today and immediately found 700 fpm lift for a gain of a couple of grand.  Took several strong thermals to 6k msl, plus a couple of hundred here and there. Wasn’t trying to maximize altitude.  Was descending near the LZ at 4 PM, intending to land, and saw the windsock go from showing steady, light SW to 90° clockwise of that,  abruptly. Then it flopped around a little. Flew directly over the lz and found the booming thermal above the north apron. Climbed with that to almost 4k and let things mellow out.  Landed in active air at 4:40.

A bunch of PG pilots enjoyed the later-day floating.
