Please forward to Marcello!!! I don’t think he knows about this… LOL! But, people may start sitting on the right side if he does the turn around…. just saying!
Thank you gentlemen!
Hmmmm… interesting, nobody thanked me for clarifying the law/mandate. And, has anyone else missed the business exemption in the actual mandate? Paragliding schools need access for their livelihood, and their students need instruction. Interpret it as you will, law is law, mandates and codes are mandates and codes. There are rules on how they are applied and enforced. Having a social director of the forest interpret it for us doesn’t hold much legal weight. The road to Crestline is not closed to anyone by the way. But, I will add some masculine civility into the discussion if I may…. What if the residents wear masks while flying as a gesture of extra sensitivity to others?
My thoughts exactly… and Crestline Launch isn’t on any of the banned roads… Hmmmmm…
Residents are exempt from the order. Does this mean Locals can fly? Legally, it does… any comments?
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or
Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
2. Owners or lessees of land in the area;
3. Residents in the area;
4. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the
performance of an official duty; and
5. Persons engaged in a business, trade, or occupation in the area.Interesting… the exemptions state residents. I guess residents who live in the line fire zone can fly… They are exempt. Sorry flatlanders…
Thank you Len. I don’t celebrate Christmas anymore, but I made an exception due to your amazingly loving gift to the flying community. We’ll have to do some Santa Fly In every Christmas to memorialize the generous gift.
