    Hi Bille,

I think this is a wonderful idea and exactly the right approach. If people feel personally compelled to help Steve, channeling that energy into an individual, community-driven effort is the best way to do it—rather than trying to force the club to step into an operational or legal role it simply cannot take.

Your suggestion of a GoFundMe is a great practical step. To build on your thought: perhaps there is a member in our community who has private land, is willing, and is legally able to provide a space for Steve and his RV to reside? If someone has the appropriate property and wants to step up to rent or offer a spot, an auto-pay community fund could go a long way in helping him make a stable transition.

Like you said, our primary responsibility as a board and a community has to be protecting the future of CSS and the landing zone. But as individuals, anyone who wants to help support Steve personally should absolutely feel free to coordinate and get something started!

    Hi Alan,

That’s a great question. Let me look into that and I’ll post on the forum by the end of next week.

    Thanks!

That’s mighty kind of you, Thomas. Thank you for your support and understanding. We hope you’ll join us for the day and spread your wings whenever possible!

    Hi Thomas,

What a fabulous idea!! Boy, I wish we were able to give an enthusiastic “YES!” to your proposed fly by, although after speaking with our safety director, we would have to decline the offer. I’m so sorry we can’t see this aircraft fly over the LZ at the fly in. Perhaps seeing the Super Floater along with a game, a raffle and delicious barbeque will make up for it? I hope so.

We will have a 50/50 raffle and a balloon bomb drop for an accuracy challenge. Sandy will be there with her all-star sweet treats. We always need cheerleaders on the sidelines ;)

It’ll be a beautiful mountain sunset, of course. Let’s enjoy the best the day has to offer!

    Thanks Alan!

The volunteers for the mini clinics will not be able to attend on the 20th, so your “Super Floaters” may be just the featured excitement we need for the fly in! We would be grateful for valuable information regarding your unique aircrafts.

We still haven’t heard any feedback about desired games, raffles, etc., so it may be an easy-going mountain day of flying, food and friends.

Please bring your submissions for the new T-shirt design. We’d love to see your ideas represent CSS.

    Hi Erick!

In addition to those fantastic tandem flying options outlined above, we will also have our long-standing club member, Jessi Laird, of Laird Flight Fitness offering $50 off her tandems that day. She is one of the favorites for an outstanding tandem experience. Her number is: (209) 872-0557. No matter your preference or choice, there will be plenty of fun to be had by all!
