If pilot reports and other forum posts aren’t PUBLICLY VIEWABLE then why bother posting?

The idea of the forum is to share information freely and to let interested non-pilots read about the adventures they could be having.

If the forum isn’t ALL publicly visible, except perhaps for a Club Business section, then I won’t be participating.

Would love to get others to weigh in on this, because I’ve responded to feedback already on both sides of this issue and obviously haven’t been able to find a solution that’s not offensive. I saw this as the best middle ground as it gives privacy to everyone and still lets anyone with an account on the site (doesn’t even have to be a paid up member) to participate.

If the majority wants the forum to be 100% public and just ask that those with privacy concerns to not post, I’m happy to open it back up.

EDIT: Let’s add all the commentary for this one on the other thread here.

FWIW, I posted this in Alerts & TFRs so it would be publicly visible.

FYI – moved your topic back to Help, just for tidiness.
