General MemberAlso had a great afternoon. Launched just before Jérôme and got in a 3h 35m flight up to 6800’.
Made my first ever trip to Pine, plus a couple trips back to CL and a low save just above the 750.
Air felt like a fruit salad of both ratty funky stuff and really nice smooth strong climbs.
The Mighty Jérôme leaving Pine behind:

General MemberElection time, pilots!
For all general members with voting privileges, you should be receiving a ballot by email in the next hour or so. The link in that email is specific to you, and can be used only once. Just like the other elections, all results are anonymous (no one can see who you voted for). The email address that the ballots go to are the same one you used to buy your general membership, so if you don’t get one, either check your spam folder or email info@crestlinesoaring.org (we’ll have to verify that you’re a current member to manually send you a ballot).
Thanks for your participation. Progress on votes submitted below:

General MemberThanks for posting that – very cool video. Seeing the down-wash was especially interesting.

General MemberIt’s that time again. As promised above, we’re again asking all P2 and under pilots NOT to launch from Crestline unless YOUR instructor is present. Please respect the rules of the road and either fly at a site that’s within your rating or get the appropriate rating if you have the skills and necessary requirements.

General MemberHi Thomas,
The last 2 (August and June) were posted in the forum, along with permanent links to their home in the Club Library here.
COVID has messed us up a bit on being able to schedule and encourage attendance to these ahead of time, but we’re working on that. Back in the day, this was much easier as we could simply have our meetings at the LZ and anyone who wants to drop by and attend was free to do so. Getting a better solution set up so that everyone can attend online (and notifying everyone well ahead of time) is a work in progress. Patience is appreciated!

General MemberTo add: if you fix your membership or renew your USHPA membership, all you have to do on the CSS site to “refresh” your information is to log out and log back in to the website. Every time you log into the website (not just opening the website – any time you enter your email address and password), your USHPA information is pulled fresh.

General MemberAwesome flight!

General MemberMy gawd – can we all STFU with our personal opinions on whether COVID is real or if mask wearing is effective? Since wearing a mask and socially distancing hurts literally no one, and since it’s recommended by the CDC, that’s the message we’re going with and what we should be telling our members and visiting pilots.
Please take the conspiracy theories and other non-flight related banter over to Facebook. There’s plenty to be had there. If you want to have a say about the messaging on the homepage of the club’s site, why not become a member and run for a board position?

General MemberAgree.
In my opinion, option 2 seems like it would satisfy most of the responses I’ve seen so far.

General MemberJust to play devil’s advocate: any particular reason for the need for an observation deck on top? Since we’re all looking up anyways, it doesn’t seem like you see more of anything by being 10 feet higher. Just a thought – might simplify things a bit (no need for stairs, worrying about kids hurting themselves, less height to cause turbulence, etc).

General MemberI think those wimpy little thermals yesterday needed both wing types to come alive :)
