You might have sullied yourself first, Dan. In your usual fashion. In fact you were removed from the BOD during your term. The rest were voted out. Resoundingly.

No need to get defensive if youā€™re not one of the troublemakers.
There have been recent serious alterations with folks who think they have a ā€œrightā€ to the property. Some arenā€™t even pilots.

My post was intended to help club members understand why they lost what they lost instead of throwing shade on the wrong people.

The club enjoyed the use of the pond for a long time through the generosity of the XCR owners and a thoughtfully crafted agreement. A series of events has rendered this beautiful amenity to the club inaccessible. Recall that there was a concerted effort by the former BOD to cut off funds to Len and Owen for the water access. The informed club members came out en masse to put a stop to that tragedy. Then another campaign was enacted to harass the Ā XCR owners by repeatedly contacting county code enforcement to have me and Gene Embree removed from the property. Along with the mess of insurance issues that began with that same former BOD, Ā it just became too much of a hassle and expense to continue the status quo. Thanks to Len for having the foresight to protect the leased property (for now!) from developers that could prevent use of the LZ. The pond is a huge loss but after spending $100k on a shade structure erected on leased property, maybe protecting use of the LZ is a priority? Soā€¦ no pond for you, and you, and you. Stop with the sense of entitlement. Lay blame squarely upon the shoulders of the person/people responsible. Want names? Iā€™ve got them šŸ¤“

The alternate road in is appx 2/10ths mile longer drive to get in. If you havenā€™t been inconvenienced because you havenā€™t been flying, it never was an inconvenience at all šŸ§ and if you have been to AJAX lately, and Ā that extra 2/10ths mile is all you had to complain about on a flying day, Iā€™d call it that a GOOD DAY. šŸ˜‰

On another note: kudos also to Sandy for all of her help with EVERY SINGLE EVENT Iā€™ve ever attended, organized, and missed. And to Dave and Heather. It takes a village. And to all of the volunteers that have made so many things better for everyone- we appreciate you!

ā€œI believe that Ā Jordan Neidinger would more fairly represent the best interests for our club.ā€

Bille, can you expand on this? Give examples?

It appears you are on the side of preserving our free flight site! Ā That happens to be the BODā€™s goal as well- and this is why we are at this point.

Hopefully there will be many more weighing in at the meeting. They arenā€™t very well attended by the membership until thereā€™s a crisis and a broad perspective will reveal much about the current one.

See you all there and please, add what youā€™d like here lest we overlook something relevant.

ā€œI didnā€™t objectify you THAT way, I objectified you THIS way, I did it years ago too – Must be something wrong with you to not like it anymoreā€¦.ā€

just keep an eye out for dirt loads being dumped, mmmmkay?

    Billie,

My original post was a directive, not an opinion. No tone, no rhetoric, no viewpoint. I know itā€™s sometimes difficult to hear- especially from a woman you told to ā€œbend over more while you pick up the garbageā€.
Iā€™m very happy that Jana took the time to elaborate in such a way that you could begin to ā€œhearā€ the message.
