David you have an active imagination.  I never told you anything of the sort.  I am asking members and non-members of CSS for donations.  Where is yours? It takes a village.

Hi Jai Pal, you wrote… “run 2 -12,000 A/C-heat units for about 2/3 of the year.  12 amps startup and 1+ amps running amps.”

Maybe there is a much higher voltage these A/C units will run on, but if it  is on 120 V, each would consume 120 W,  which is about 2 old fashioned 60 W lightbulbs. 240 W if the 1 Amp is on a 220-240 V circuit. Hard to imagine A/C units being so efficient as not consuming more than a few incandescent light bulbs. This reference indicates that a single 12,000 BTU A/C on 115 V consumes 13 Amps, or 1495  Watts, which is more believable , about the same as a small hairdryer.

Since solar panels is part of your profession, I feel bad for asking but… Are you sure the power consumption of those A/C units is not at least an order of magnitude more? Maybe you just made a typo when writing “1+ amps running amps” and meant to write “10 amps running amps”.

Please tell me I worry for nothing and all will be fine.  :-)  Thank you for being a big part of this project.

The budget- IS WHAT HAS BEEN RAISED FOR THE PROJECT. Not speculating 5-10 years of membership dues, Tom Hanks or Bryan Cranston promises, or a $30,000 door that is not even in the cost estimate, or “rendering”, of what this Starbucks *might* actually look like.
What is the actual tally of funds now?
It will be interesting if yet another “typo” of amp magnitude  is swept under the rug.
love love love the idea of another round of voting.

Here Ya go Jerome.. this 15K btu inverter driven mini splits outdoor units shows an RLA of 7.4… LRA of 9.3  Mitsubishi 15K btu specs

Hi Jerome. Mini split AC and Heat units do require a higher startup load and a lower run load. We should get 240V models for higher efficiency. Mitsubishi makes a reliable unit to those specs. Others are similar. Mark Hoffman is one of the HVAC Contractors in CSS who installs these. It will be sized for the space and work with power from solar. Thanks

Thanks for the info Mark and Jai Pal. I’m more used to paraglider specs than HVAC, but gather that each of the unit’s outdoor compressor will consume 9.3 A at startup (LRA: Locked Rotor Amps) and 7.2 A after during use (RLA: Rated Load Amps), with a fan adding 0.5 A. If operating with 115 V, we are looking at about 886 W (= 115 V x 7.2+0.5 A) continuous for each outdoor unit. Not sure how much the indoor unit fan consumes, but guessing we are around 1000 W for each unit (outdoor+indoor). So around 2000 W total for 2 A/C units.

Must learn to “go with the flow” and worry less. Knowing we have experts in each field helps trusting this project is in good hands.

    1. I was just telling the truth Jai Pal. I guess you don’t remember hmmm. I have no reason to lie to you or anyone else.
We had a contractor build us a 2nd bathroom and he said alot of stuff but when questioned he seem to forget as well.
As far as budget we only have $12000 to work with which with the cost of building materials now that’s only going to pay for the concrete then what? We go another season without the shade structure?
As far as donations I’ve put alot of my time and sweat making sure we had electricity, water, wifi along with working flyins. That’s my donation.

David or whoever is sending or receiving on your account, I don’t know about your contractor. I’m not a bathroom contractor but am an Architect and have an excellent memory. So when it comes to requesting donations there is no “Hollywood” money, only a donation request of one USHPA member/pilot who happens to be an actor.  In any case donations currently are about $15,000 towards the structure #3 budget of $58,000. Anything raised beyond the $58,000 can be allocated to other amenities or enhancements of the building for the Club. The idea of lifetime memberships for a donation of $10,000 has been brought forward by several CSS members and seems to be getting some traction. So if you can support the project in whatever way is possible for you that would be great. Good luck to us all. Regards, and I will do the same. Be well.

Hey Linda or whoever is writing using your account, did you find out from the CSS website how much has been donated towards the selected Structure #3, with a budget of $58,000? What you have written is a lot of speculation and no facts. Whine and baloney. Would you like some cheese with that? Or the facts?
    Be well maam

Jai Pal, do you really think that mine and Dave’s accounts have been hacked? You should notify the webmaster if you believe this to be true.
