Too many people were buying the associate membership who werent qualified for it. It is for those people related to full regular members, such as spouse, son daughter, living in same household. Like Masayo, Majo, Noel and perhaps another one or two whom I’m not personally familiar.

Ordinarily CSS has only ~3 to 5 associate members, after membership signups went online, that jumped up to 40. Hmmm.  A look at the list of those associate members led to the conclusion that the online store wasnt coded well enough to prevent it from being gamed.  It might be getting rewritten.

Maybe the description of that membership class wasnt explained well enough, I dunno.

Paul’s mother, Barb, is flying in from Wisconsin Tuesday midday to retrieve Paul’s car from the towing and storage racketeer in Redlands. She would like to have an informal remembrance starting around 5pm for a couple hours.  Come on out if you can free up Tues evening.

velcro can also become fatigued if you open it too often. I had a harness that liked to try and spit the chute out the side. Glancing at the velcro seams should be part of the preflight along with the handle pins.  Replace weak velcro with the sewn in type only.

Pilot is still in intensive care, back on a ventilator. After the latest surgery, his condition has taken a turn for the worse.

Keep Wade in your thoughts this week.

I’m finding out the injured pilot wasnt as rogue as I initially thought. Still gathering info.

One thing is certain. He is indeed very injured. Keep him in your thoughts and send healing vibes his way. Recovery and positive outcome is the most important component in this incident now.

    Pilot Crash Protocol:

If you find yourself crashed on the hillside uninjured, get your wing folded up right away if you can. Text, call, radio or signal the fact that you are ok so emergency responders arent sent on a dry run.

If youre injured, stay put. Your lack of activity is the signal that you need help. If possible, call or radio for help.

If youre flying and see a downed pilot, get close enough to determine whether theyre injured or not-(without jeopardizing your own safety) and communicate whether an emergency response is warranted or not. Note details on the crash location; coords, landmark, distance and direction from x……

If you are unsure if the pilot is injured and there is no apparent movement within a few minutes, 911.

    When in doubt, 911. Now!

I’d much rather visit a pilot in the hospital, than at their funeral.
