Gene does an incredible amount of work for our club ; I don’t
think he is thanked or respected , nearly as much as he should be.

@ Thomas
Santa Anna winds scare me much more when flying a HG or PG , rather than
when in a heavy sailplane ; our light wing loading, makes us quite vulnerable
like a butterfly ! :(

@ David :
I agree to that . Could even go further to place a 30-min parking limit ; violators must do 50 push-ups !
Yea — it takes me :30 min to break down my Atos.

…The root of the problem may be that a pilot feels validated to park their gear if there is no immediate need for others to use their space for packing. The combination of shade and a clean surface is inviting for parking gear. They become a trend setter showing “it is OK to park here”. Conflict happens when the space is needed. …
I was a little curious as to why the PG’s get to fold up their $h!t in the shade near sunset ; and the HG’s have to sweat in the sun ? I guess , if your a PG pilot , that it appears perfectly reasonable ; I fly Both PG and HG , and it doesn’t appear reasonable at all to me !!!

LOL ; that was Funny !!!!

Really Cool design ; just makes flying safer !!

Grab my email off the club list ; I can give you the guy’s number. He seamed reasonable so probably get a better bulk price.

The cheapest option is used turf with logos (partial logos from sports fields) at $.70 a square foot. Looks like a rough guesstimate of the SW quadrant of the LZ is around 20,000 square feet, so comes out to $14k. Compared to the water cost, that seems to pay for itself in under 8 months.
EDIT :
Found out the service-life of a used baseball field with a soccer field combo, with minimum markings will be near 20-years. They want .68 cents a foot + shipping.
It’s in Bakersfield

A Big favor please :
I can not make the Sept 17 Board Meeting , and i would appreciate is someone could bring up a point that does affect everyone :
HG pilots that land just short of tied down gliders near the shade-structure, for no other reason than they don’t want to walk across the PG landing aria, after they land. I actually Lost a very nice flying Atos, because some lazy A$$ didn’t want to walk his glider back from the HG landing aria . Yea — he crashed into my Atos because he didn’t have the cognitive resources to determine that his abilities were not up to par, to attempt such a landing. This affects ALL pilots , (both HG and PG) and it is just down-right dangerous !!!
Thanks : Bille Floyd
Gene took rookie down to the 750; too windy for him there too. (Good decision to not fly.)
Gene took me to Regionals on Sept 7 , near sunset ; had a Great flight. Next
day it rained ; I left to Las Vegas .
Sure had a Great time ; hanging with you CSS Skanks !!!

We all have to be careful when relying on our memories, as studies showed humans adjust memories for personal comfort or to align with a social group.
Jerome is correct !
I view it like a bit of a spin-off from functional fixedness ; as it relates to a cognitive bias in problem solving .

The problem is, two weeks after you start it, you’ve forgotten the real content or why the heck you went there in the first place?
