It was fun hearing you all while flying at Ajax. I had the same experience- big smooth lift until very late.

I was on the BoD in 2021 when the insurance was being discussed and changed. The first contender for coverage backed out for some reason- maybe since it was aviation related- I don’t remember. Then Stan came up with the current company’s plan and we were led to believe was that it would not affect the general membership, just instructors and what they pay RRRG to instruct. I voted along with the instructors because I had no dog in the fight and was told it was legit and I trusted the leadership. We (the rest of the board) were never shown the policy and I didn’t know it was a BIG SECRET until Stan was whining about not having access to the pond since the XCR owners didn’t know what was covered. It was quite a fight to get Stan to send the policy to XCR owners- and it was mysteriously with sworn secrecy- that they’d show it to no one. They were wise to look over the policy, and have a real lawyer take a look, as it was revealed to leave them wide open to liability.
It makes me wonder- what else don’t we know about the other dealings the musketeers have been up to?
(and when you’re making vegetable soup, your grocery list isn’t just ham, chocolate, or bananas- because that was just as relevant a comment as another 🙄)

I suppose we are waiting until election results tomorrow to determine who will be coordinating those events. If you would like to help organize one, or contribute in any way, please reach out to the new Events Coordinator.

A bunch of us who are appalled at the direction of the current BoD are advocating for both write ins (prez Ed Wiggins, Tom Evans safety director) Jana for VP, Jamie for secretary, Jeff for treasurer, Linda (me) for events, Luke for Site director, Daniel for comms.

Only 17 more days left to vote!

I voted. How, you ask? Well…

Ed Wiggins in for President (write in) because of his experience on the board and his legal knowledge

Jana Pivkova for VP because she has no hidden agenda and was such an asset on the board in the past

Jamie Shelden for secretary for her knowledge of all things “secretary “ (the other nominee said he didn’t want the position – it’s on the video from the March 18 meeting)

Jeff Bether for treasurer because he performs this job perfectly

Luke Berger for site coordinator because he’s got IDEAS

Daniel Quick for communications because he’s very communicative

Tom Evans for safety director (write in) because we might get some info on incidents

and yours truly for events coordinator to get a fly-in and some gatherings on the calendar this year.

Its my understanding that our write-ins were inspired to volunteer due to some insight garnered at the last “executive board meeting “. You can watch Jana’s video of the revelations. I hope to have the opportunity to work alongside these individuals to preserve and improve our experience at Andy Jackson Airpark.

    1. again- you can request a new ballot if you’ve changed your mind.

John, your estimate of 25% of the membership being FOR dissolution of the agreement is WAY HIGH. My estimate is more like 1%. That’s not a typo. I have heard only 4 voices in favor. Stan’s might not count because he seems to bend whichever way the wind is blowing that day. So really just 3.

Oh hey thanks, Dan, but I can read just fine. And you know, I’d be home right now except that code enforcement was contacted by a board member -on the Cross Country Ranch – presumably to facilitate a quick cheap sale of said Cross Country Ranch and further confound the Ranch owners. So yes, I’m not able to sleep in my home at the moment. Oh Gene is out too. And so are those lovely horses in the video.
And no, to set the record straight due to a big fat lie, I have NEVER called code enforcement on ANYONE. What kind of monster wants folks to be homeless?

But yes, I do plan to have a few events- from wherever I may be living, with the help of a few very nice friends. In fact, I can definitely say I will have MORE events than you had when you were last events coordinator. And more events than were held in the last year. That’s a promise! To be able to accomplish that feat, I would just have to plan one! I’ll aim for more however. When I was on the board as event coordinator , we had two events, both very successful , notwithstanding the lack of shade and a giant trench in the field.
Thanks so much for letting me clear all that up!

Dan, what is your long term solution? Just “rework the deal”? How does that future look? What are these “facts” to which you allude? You say so much here and yet so little. Is it your contention that Owen and Len are holding a gun to the club’s head?
    please- tell us your PLAN.
