Soboba got even friendlier for HG, with the ride vehicle receiving an extended rack to the very front of the vehicle along with a sturdy HG front post & support. Also, the rear has a removable post & support, so that 4 HGs can be carried at once. On Sunday, there was a bunch of HG pilots flying Soboba.

Today was good for flying, I got my 3 hours in and up to 5500′. Good turnout of pilots.

Thanks for combining our tracks into an animation David, and for the late day picture of me with Lake Silverwood in the background. The late day thermals were wide and soft-edged, so soothing.

I like having my twin join me, that way I can “pass the baton” after top landing.2022_05_14_CA_Marshall_BuzzZ6_Jerome_WebSize

Only the wing remains available (link), and at a lowered price for an easy purchase.

All others items have already sold.

Hi Bille, from the manufacturer’s website for the GPS SD

“The GPS SD has a built in low power wireless interface for connecting compatible accessories. The list of Flymaster wireless accessories is the most complete on the market. Already available for the GPS SD are the HEART-G, TAS and M1.”

Where TAS stands for “True Air Speed” and this is the related info: TAS probe.

From what I hear, most of the gear may already be spoken for, but the seller will finalize after returning in a few days. One can still contact the seller to get in line in case previous arrangements fall through. Good luck.

Thanks David, for compiling our tracks into an animation.

Different winds at different altitudes: Near the end of my flight, at 9k I was getting 8 mph from East, and 17 mph from the West just before landing.

This was my choice for an LZ in Highlands after a partial return from Cram Peak (past the dam)…2022_04_25_Field_used_as_LZ

    You got it Alex.

My speedbar was flipped over the top of the seat, and with leg straps threaded through the first step/loop. In flight, after gaining altitude and moving forward for smoother conditions and terrain clearance, I detached and re-attached (one at a time) leg straps and chest strap (center buckle key has a strap connected to left leg strap) to release the speed bar.

Thank you Jana, for your time on the board and your continuing efforts to steer visitors in the right direction.

Good idea for the club to resume having an LZ monitor.

The website has all the info, for those who seek info and like to play by the rules. A bigger issue (independent of this case)…

Copied from this FB post by Jana Pivkova on 2022/4/6

Update on the shade structure build, April 6, 2022. Jai Pal says: “The Shade Structure curved roof beams will be ready to ship from Portland this Friday, April 8th. Once the GluLam beams arrive, we will prepare and seal the wood, install them with the steel columns, and into the existing beam saddles. A concrete grade beam will be installed surrounding the steel columns below the ground, which will stabilize the whole structure. Upon completion of the roof frame and when funds are available, we will install the roof framing and a waterproof roof membrane to cover it. Right now we are projecting four weeks to build the frame and roof structure.”

    Hi Bille,

Best to wait for the specs to become available for  the 2nd version, sometimes the weight ranges change, and then one would typically want to be 60-80% into the weight range. I can do the math for you then, and recommend a size. Typically the TFW (Total Flying Weight) is 123% of the naked body weight. You can use my Email (<– click the link) to continue this sizing discussion between us.

Hi Bille, that review is a good read, but it is for the 1st version of the Maestro, instead of this 2nd version about to be released.

How much difference between the 1st and this upcoming version? The manufacturer write… “We can present you the greatest leap in performance that we have ever achieved from one generation to the next.

Marcum mentioned in a posting above… “the FAA has moved the notice into the SW US Chart Supplement”.

Which can explain the cancellation of the NOTAM, but the concern remains.

It was fun playing catch-up after initially going West to Pine.

Late afternoon flying (launching 3 hours from sunset) still has fun XC potential.
