Update on the shade structure build, April 6, 2022. Jai Pal says: “The Shade Structure curved roof beams will be ready to ship from Portland this Friday, April 8th. Once the GluLam beams arrive, we will prepare and seal the wood, install them with the steel columns, and into the existing beam saddles. A concrete grade beam will be installed surrounding the steel columns below the ground, which will stabilize the whole structure. Upon completion of the roof frame and when funds are available, we will install the roof framing and a waterproof roof membrane to cover it. Right now we are projecting four weeks to build the frame and roof structure.”

General MemberHi Bille,
Best to wait for the specs to become available for the 2nd version, sometimes the weight ranges change, and then one would typically want to be 60-80% into the weight range. I can do the math for you then, and recommend a size. Typically the TFW (Total Flying Weight) is 123% of the naked body weight. You can use my Email (<– click the link) to continue this sizing discussion between us.

General MemberHi Bille, that review is a good read, but it is for the 1st version of the Maestro, instead of this 2nd version about to be released.
How much difference between the 1st and this upcoming version? The manufacturer write… “We can present you the greatest leap in performance that we have ever achieved from one generation to the next.“

General MemberMarcum mentioned in a posting above… “the FAA has moved the notice into the SW US Chart Supplement”.
Which can explain the cancellation of the NOTAM, but the concern remains.

General MemberIt was fun playing catch-up after initially going West to Pine.
Late afternoon flying (launching 3 hours from sunset) still has fun XC potential.

General MemberDelivery time is not bad, Ben placed his order yesterday and we are expecting it mid-April, in about 4 weeks time.
Glad to help others, just ask.

General MemberHi Bille. Many manufacturers have the equivalent to Ozone’s “shark nose”, but with design variations and call it differently. So the Gin Carrera you flew must have called its leading edge design by a different marketing name.
