Hi Bille, that review is a good read, but it is for the 1st version of the Maestro, instead of this 2nd version about to be released.

How much difference between the 1st and this upcoming version? The manufacturer write… “We can present you the greatest leap in performance that we have ever achieved from one generation to the next.

Marcum mentioned in a posting above… “the FAA has moved the notice into the SW US Chart Supplement”.

Which can explain the cancellation of the NOTAM, but the concern remains.

It was fun playing catch-up after initially going West to Pine.

Late afternoon flying (launching 3 hours from sunset) still has fun XC potential.

50+ km NOHD (Nominal Ocular Hazard Distance): Definition.

To visualize the area, I plotted a 5 NM radius around the NASA JPL Table Mountain Facility2022_03_23_NOTAM_NASA_JPL_TableMtn

Delivery time is not bad, Ben placed his order yesterday and we are expecting it mid-April, in about 4 weeks time.

Glad to help others, just ask.

Hi Bille. Many manufacturers have the equivalent to Ozone’s “shark nose”, but with design variations and call it differently. So the Gin Carrera you flew must have called its leading edge design by a different marketing name.

For Tom… Tomorrow (Wednesday) looks good enough for flying and I will be at AJX (Marshall LZ) before 11:30 am. I will bring your radio.

Hi Tom, I’m answering here (I don’t have your Email address), but please continue our conversation by Email: My contact.

I have been using those UV-B5 continuously for students since 2015, so they have been reliable. I cannot think of  a reason why they would stop working as you get closer to Torrey. I just noticed that I have spare/extra batteries for all the UV-B5’s (and the VX-6R), so all buyers get those bonus items.

I am reserving one UV-B5 for you. Do  you want a holder for $5 more (grand total of $15)? It sounds like I’m pushing fries at a fast-food restaurant. I will have it with me when going flying, and there is a fair chance I will be at Marshall this Wednesday as you noticed from the shuttle list.

Today (Sunday Feb 20) was a repeat of Monday, but even better… I launched at 2:05 pm and flew 3 h 17 min, no rough air and the best part was the late widespread lift to 6600′. I counted about a dozen PG in flight at one moment. There was also a couple learning to HG, and using a trailer behind the shuttle vehicle to bring the wing up.

Quote of the day over the radio from a worried pilot: “I’m on the BGD wing and tried everything, big ears and spirals, but can’t come down !
